It would be very difficult to project the energy costs in the constrained, heavily environmentally regulated economy, to compare these latter supply options. However, it is expected that the availability of SPS or fusion might bring down the cost of energy from depleted fuel sources because these resources would no longer be utilized. In all cases, for energy demand scenario CI, the requirement for an advanced technology is diminished for a couple of decades into the 21st Century; therefore, the decision time as to which advanced technology or technologies would replace conventional sources is delayed and would probably have very little effect on the overall future energy supply and demand.
