1.2.13.4 Impacts of the Beam on Biological Life Fig. 2.13.1 shows the power density distribution at the receiving site. It is to be seen, that the power density remains within the currently lowest exposure limit (USSR and Eastern European limit) beyond the second sidelobe. The relative high U.S. standard for a working day is founded on the assumption, that microwave interactions with a human body will mainly cause a tissue-heating. Soviet scientists believe, that even at low exposure levels the microwaves will cause effects on the central nervous system.
