Low-loss GaAs diodes were used in fabricating a structurally simple rectenna system with an efficiency exceeding 70 percent. In this system the microwave-dipole matching with the semiconductor rectifier is effected solely by the proper selection of the dipole- array geometry, and the de connection of individual rectennas in the? system is effected in the dipoledistribution plane. Edge effects in the array on the efficiency of the rectenna system are reduced considerably in arrays with more than 200 elements. (B.J.)
