The structural state space of the system is evaluated on the bases of sensor data, subsystem states, and sampling intervals. Li near and/or fracta1 aggregate state spaces are defi ned for preserving the states subject to disruption. The aggregates utilize internal homothetic operators generated by a number of parameters always less than the dimension of the stat e space. A re1ationship is estab1ished between cause and effect (data analysis and pattern recognition). A minimal structural representation is defined for the states by means of an ascending hierchica1 c1 assifi cati on, wh i1e the state space i s data dependent and the observer set is a fuzzy set. Account is taken of uncertai nt i es i ntroduced by par ts of the system and observer sensors. The method is illustrated in terms of maintaining the pointing accuracy and optimal functioning of the Themis solar power plant heliostat field and other components. A modification is proposed for correcting a fault in the pointing control of the actual system.
