The system is theoretically analyzed to determine what effect added Gaussian noise will have? on its performance. On linear mode, the Gaussian noise was found to negate the quantization effect of the system provided the variance of the noise was high enough. On log mode, the system was found to perform better in the low photo-diode current range.
