Structural Design A structure of hexagonal units composed of triangular plaquettes was chosen on the basis of simplicity, ease in construction, efficiency in plaquette attachment, etc. One possible method of depolying these hexagonal units is shown in Fig. 16. Mirror Fabrication Hexagonal mirrors (Fig. 17) were fabricated using the results of the above-mentioned studies and our experience in flat mirror fabrication. Information about the materials, structures and the fabrication processes were obtained. Performance data of the resultant test mirrors are shown in Table 6. The test results confirm that the constructed mirrors meet our specifications.
