Until requirements are more firmly defined, especially those dealing with survivability, and power systems are designed to meet these and many other specific satellite integration requirements, comparisons of power system concepts will remain mostly a matter of conjecture because many system attributes, including mass, may be altered dramatically by these requirements. A general description of each of the power system concepts we analyzed in this study is given in Chapter 2. Chapter 3 lays out the ground rules that were used to obtain the system mass and area estimates. The results of the analyses are presented in Chapter 4 and the conclusions are given in Chapter 5. 2 .0 Power System Descriptions A general description of each of the six basic power system concepts that we analyzed is given below. The descriptions are intentionally short, because details are not available for most of the concepts.
