A company – or crazier still, companIES – doing the heavy lifting for Space? INSANITY!
The Government not being the absolute and complete controller of the widest options for Human destinies? HERESY!
NASA, who’d put a man on the moon and now had the shuttle and all of its promises, could not operate a business at a profit? GROW UP!
This was the thinking of the space world in the 1970s. Seems odd today but it took the slap in the face of that February 2018 dual Falcon booster landing for the professional world of Space Technology management to realize that the change could finally no longer be ignored. By anyone.
That day, that moment, to some, was the beginning. In reality it was just a step along a very long journey.
Where we are now came from that Then, and that Then came from a small band of crazies who believed from decades before that Commercial Space was the only race worth running.
One of those crazies, the one most often at the forefront of the industry knock-down-drag-outs, was SSI President Emeritus Gary C Hudson. And this week SSI honors Gary and his long-time partner, writer and co-publisher Tom A. Brosz with the official release, 100% free to all, of the complete archive of the legendary Commercial Space Report.
Digitized with care and rightful pride by Mr. Brosz from his private collection and wrapped by beautiful html designed by SSI President Robin Snelson and web consultant Myles Young we invite you to learn the true history of the Space world that is now living around us today.
The Foundation Institute Commercial Space Report. Now available for you, for free at CommSpace.SSI.Org.
